Well, early in the a.m. on Saturday the 14th , I let my dog out to go to the bathroom. about 10 minutes had passed, which is the usual amount of time i would give for her to go. So when i went to let her in, she wasn't at the door, which for her is kinda strange, but i called her thinking that she may just be exploring a little (but still in the yard), but she didn't come. At that point I knew something was very wrong, and I went out there to see where I thought she was. Well, I couldn't find her, so immediately i began to search my neighborhood for her. Now this was at midnight, maybe even a little after, so i really couldn't just scream out her name, and whistle as loudly as i could, because it was so late. Well, i searched and searched for about 3-4 hours, for sooo long that i got blisters on the bottom of my feet (I was wearing flip flops, so probably not the best shoes for walking, but i really wasn't too concerned with that). So now it has been 2 days, and I feel sooooo worried, scared, sad, and honestly its just not the same coming home, and she isn't there at the door waiting for me... Well that is where this idea came in, I know that there are sites out there where you can do different things, create fliers, pay investigators, and others, but what i think the most powerful search too is, the power of the masses. The way i see it, is that if the message gets out to enough people than there WILL be someone within that group that either themselves know where the lost dog is, or someone they know knows where the lost dog is... The way that this would work is by complete data connecting and media sharing of the lost dog, i mean in every way you could think of. From fliers being put up in the neighborhood, to picture mail being sent to phones of all the people it could possible reach. I do think that the internet is a very powerful information highway, and would be very well utilize for this exact situation, and that is where this blog is coming in. I noticed that i created a flier on a site, and that they in turn began to share the flier out, which was a great deal of help. But it really needs to be more involved, it can't be shared by 1 person, but 100's, 1000's even 1000000's, and if that can be accomplished, then we can all feel a little safer, and know that if our pets do wander off, then the chances of us finding them will be that much greater...
Please take me serious, and really think about what I'm saying here, and lets all join together and make this work!!!
This is a really great service, but as you can see, i have removed my phone number, because i really don't want to have a bunch of BS callers, on top of my dog being missing. Anyway come on people, lets make this work!!!
